Maya I guess you've answered the question half way, if there's nothing in your contract then ordinarily you'll have to find some middle ground with your label as to direction or hold your ground and ride out the storm. However you need to ask yourself why you're in this industry and be honest about it; are you in it for fame and fortune or do you want to be heard? I guess whichever of the two is your real motive will guide your decision.

T-Roc, What can I tell you? Managers are a dime a dozen they are as numerous as the stars but the key is finding a good one. There actually is an association of Artiste Managers in Lagos, but I won't advice you to go looking from there. You won't even be invited to the meetings anyway. However, what you can do is ask around and talk to your more established colleagues about who manages them. Good managers are always preceded by their reputations so put your ears to the ground.
